The Lazio patron has been offered the chance to bring Rolando, the older brother of Mauro, to the capital.
It may sound more like a Hollywood blockbuster than a transfer story, but according to La Gazzetta Dello Sport, patron Claudio Lotito is preparing a sequel to this season’s Zarate story by bringing his older brother, Rolando, to the capital. With Lazio in search of an out-and-out striker for next season, Lotito’s eyes have turned to the brother of current idol Mauro Zarate.
The 30-year-old former Real Madrid forward has a strong physical presence, but also has a technical ability that would suit the current style of Lazio’s attacking set-up.The Zarate brothers already have a history of playing together, after they won the Apertura championship together in 2006 with Velez Sarsfield. It may come as a surprise to some but Rolando was close to a Lazio move back in 2005, when the offer to Lotito was declined.
